ScripShare is a crowdsourced Christian scripture-study app. You submit a scripture reference and your own study. Others browse those studies, save or pass, and may comment.

Accounts are optional
You can still read and write as a guest. If you create an account, you may sign in with email and a password, or with Sign in with Apple on iPhone (and the website), or Sign in with Google on Android and the website. We use the account to keep your studies, comments, saves, and achievements with you.
What we store
When you share a study, we keep:
- the display name you type
- an optional title
- your study text (up to 500 characters)
- the scripture book, chapter, and verse range or ranges you chose
- the Bible Gateway version code (CSB unless you pick another)
- save and pass counts on each study
- comments and replies you post on a study
If you create an account, we also keep your email, a hashed password (never the password itself), or the Apple user identifier if you use Sign in with Apple, or the Google user identifier if you use Sign in with Google, plus a session cookie named scripshare_session. Achievements use a daily visit mark and which badges you have earned. If you add an optional profile photo, we store that image and show it on your studies. We do not store your Apple or Google password.
To let each device save or pass once per study, we set a random voter ID cookie named scripshare_voter. It is HttpOnly and lasts one year. It is not your name. On the iPhone app, that same ID is stored in the device Keychain and sent as an X-ScripShare-Voter header instead of a cookie. If you sign in, we may attach that voter ID to your account so your saves follow you.
A few flags stay only in your browser for the session — the pray reminder and the swipe tutorial. They do not leave your device.
What we do not store
We do not store or display the wording of Bible verses. Scripture opens on Bible Gateway. We do not scrape or cache CSB, NASB, or any other Bible text.
How studies are handled
We filter offensive language when a study is written. A study that reaches at least 10 votes and is 90% thumbs-down is archived: hidden from the feed, not deleted.
What we do not do
We do not sell personal information. We do not run ads. We do not use analytics SDKs today.
Bible Gateway
Links that open a passage go to Bible Gateway, a third party. Their privacy policy applies on their site.
Children
ScripShare is not directed at children under 13. Please do not use it if you are under 13.
Deletion
Signed-in users can delete their account from the website Account tab. iPhone users can do the same in a browser at scripshare.fly.dev. You can also email hunterslair92@gmail.com to delete your account, or to ask that a study or comment be removed, or that your voter cookie be cleared on our side. Deleting an account removes your login and session. Studies you already shared stay on ScripShare unless you ask us to take them down. You can also delete the scripshare_voter cookie in your browser.
This policy is for ScripShare as it works today. If that changes in a way that matters, we will update this page.
